During this brief time of being unable to meet and fellowship, the Elders and ministers want to reach out and connect, giving words of encouragement, as much as we can through daily devotionals. So, until we can meet again, we miss you all and know you are in our prayers. -Daniel
Encouraging words from Mike Goltry: Storms are brewing on the horizon. I can watch from my window as the dark clouds gather and head our direction. Our girls are with family in Ohio right now, but the cats are still home with us. Dozer, our big fluffy cat, is scared of everything. If he isn’t eating he is probably hiding somewhere. Well, he came up and cuddled into my arms as he often does. But instead of being on high alert, he was clearly very relaxed. Our children do this too. When they are scared they will seek the arms of those that protect them and they will find comfort there. It doesn’t make all the big, bad, scary things on the outside go away, but you no longer worry about them because you trust in the protection of the one holding you. I am not fearless and I wouldn’t call myself brave, but I have faith in the One who holds me. So I’ll close with a scripture that I know everyone is familiar with.
Psalm 23 1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. 3 He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
